Warriors of Camp Southern Ground

Anthony Cunningham

Anthony is a Warrior PATHH alum whose U.S. Army career spanned more than two decades. This is his story.

I proudly served in the United States Army for over 20 years, donning multiple hats as an Airdrop Systems Technician. Throughout my journey, I embodied roles like a leader, planner, manager, trainer, technician, subject matter expert, and advisor within the command. The honor of serving in renowned locations such as Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Fort Richardson, Alaska; Fort Polk, Louisiana; and Fort Hood, Texas truly shaped my professional trajectory. With the culmination of my service, I retired as a seasoned professional. Along the way, I was fortunate to receive accolades such as two Bronze Star Medals and a Meritorious Service Medal, testament to the dedication poured into my military career.

Embarking on the PATHH journey was a pivotal moment in my life, marked by profound transformation and self-discovery. Prior to PATHH, my actions teetered on the edge of self-destruction and inefficiency, hindering my professional growth. Struggling poorly seemed synonymous with my existence, as productivity evaded me, and unproductivity marred each endeavor. On my lowest days, the reverberations of my struggles were palpable in the disappointment etched on the faces of those around me, a stark testament to the toll my negativity and lack of direction had taken. The narrative I embraced about myself was one of incompetence and unworthiness, a constant echo that eroded my confidence and ability to see beyond my perceived limitations. The moment of reckoning came when I found myself at my wit’s end, grappling with the realization that change was imperative. That juncture, just before PATHH, served as the catalyst for my commitment to personal growth and the pursuit of a more fulfilling professional journey.

When I first encountered PATHH, I was feeling lost and unsure of my direction. I was struggling to find purpose and clarity in my life, which affected my confidence and overall well-being. However, as I delved deeper into the PATHH program, I discovered a newfound sense of self-awareness and empowerment. The tools and guidance provided helped me navigate through my challenges and transform my perspective. Through the PATHH testimonial, I can confidently say that I am now more grounded, focused, and equipped to tackle whatever comes my way. The PATHH program has allowed me to reflect on my experiences, further enhancing my skills and preparing me for the next chapter in life with confidence and gratitude.
