Bridget Harrell
Bridget Harrell founded Velocity Solutions in 1995 and served as its Chairwoman until the sale of the company. Founded in 1995 the company serviced the transaction accounts of over 30 million consumers and business owners, Velocity Solutions is the leading provider of revenue-driving solutions for community banks and credit unions. Its Velocity Intelligent Platform™ powers all of Velocity’s solutions, using machine-led intelligence that delivers powerful analytics and drives revenue, deposits and loans to its client financial institutions. Bridget helped to oversee all corporate functions with the intention of maintaining a sustainable business model and generating financial returns for all stakeholders. Bridget brought more than 20 years of leadership experience in marketing, merchandising, and accounting to the organization. As co-owner of Velocity Solutions, Bridget was responsible for engineering and controlling the organization’s growth and expansion into other markets.
Bridget is an active volunteer in her community and is involved with several charitable organizations. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Emeril Lagasse Foundation and previously served on the board for the Coastal Carolina Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She is an avid supporter of the fine and performing arts, having served on the board of The Bellamy Mansion Museum of Fine Arts, donating regularly to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, and sponsoring a variety of other performing arts centers and programs in Wilmington, NC. She has also served on the advisory council at The Episcopal High School.
In 2011, Bridget was presented with the “Humanitarian of the Year Award,” from the Cape Fear Chapter of the American Red Cross. The Humanitarian of the Year award, presented annually by the American Red Cross, recognizes local individuals or groups whose efforts and accomplishments have made the community a better place to live and work.
Bridget is a native of North Carolina, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Appalachian State University. She currently resides in Wilmington, North Carolina and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
