Camp Southern Ground Presents at 17th Annual Student Veterans of America National Conference

Last weekend, Camp Southern Ground had the distinct honor of attending and presenting at the 17th Annual Student Veterans of America (SVA) National Conference in Colorado. This premier event brought together student veterans, Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs), and military-friendly companies to share insights, foster collaboration, and strengthen support for the veteran community.

At the conference, Camp Southern Ground had the privilege of leading a session to showcase some of the Skills Activations we use in our Warrior Week program. This interactive session provided attendees with a deeper understanding of the innovative tools and techniques we employ to help veterans transition successfully into civilian life. Additionally, we shared insights into our mission-driven approach, which focuses on building resilience, purpose, and community among veterans.

“Collaboration is at the heart of what we do,” said Camp Southern Ground Veteran Programs Wellbeing Director Lacy Gunnoe. “Attending the SVA National Conference is a powerful reminder of the collective impact we can achieve when we work together to support those who have served. The connections we made and the training we participated in will help us enhance our programs and continue empowering veterans as they navigate their next chapter.”

The conference also provided invaluable opportunities to network with industry leaders and military-friendly companies. Camp Southern Ground gained key insights into best practices for hiring veteran candidates, creating supportive workplaces, and fostering inclusive cultures. This knowledge will play a critical role in further strengthening our veteran programs and helping veterans achieve their career goals.
