Tighe Brown

President, Walking Softer

Tighe Brown is the President of Walking Softer, with over 12 years of leadership and expertise in the youth wellness, food systems, and nonprofit space.

Formerly, Tighe was the President and a founding team member of the national nonprofit Big Green (The Kitchen Community) working to help create, build, and implement a scalable and successful outdoor educational program for schools with Learning Gardens. Her passion for this work comes from her background in Sustainable Food Systems and Environmental Education. Previous to Big Green, Tighe worked in the for-profit sustainable food systems sector specifically in the natural food industry where she focused and supported early growth, start-up companies. She has also spent time teaching environmental education and coaching youth sports. Tighe was a 2018 Forbes 30 under 30 finalists and with Big Green, received the 2018 Martin Luther King Jr Business Award for the state of Colorado. Tighe earned and a B.S in Conservation and Resource Studies from The University of California, Berkeley.
