Douglas D. Haynes

Douglas D. Haynes is the Managing Partner and Founder of Norias Research Group. He served as President of Point72 Asset Management from 2014 through early 2108.  His four-year tenure featured outperformance of peers, expansion of international operations, creation of the Point72 Academy, restoration of the founder’s SEC license, governance of the firm’s $2bn private equity portfolio, launch of a venture capital arm, and leadership of a >$4bn capital raise. 

Prior to launching Norias, Doug founded Council Advisors in 2020 to provide advice, counsel, and interim executive leadership for FinTech, MedTech, and asset management companies.  He served as interim CEO of several clients, including Hazeltree Fund Services, where he is now Executive Chairman. 

From 1992 through 2013, Doug was a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company and a firm member. Over the course of his tenure, he led the global Technology Services and Operations practices, and the Northeast Region of the US. His early roles included serving as an engineer for GE’s Plastics Business and a software developer for the Central Intelligence Agency.  

Doug is a Board member of the Robin Hood Foundation in New York, Camp Southern Ground in Georgia, the Center for Global Enterprise, and a founding Board member of the Cohen Veteran’s Network. He has served as an advisory board member for Singtel Corporation and the Darden Graduate School of Business. 

He graduated summa cum laude in mechanical engineering from West Virginia University and was a Shermet Scholar at the Darden Graduate School of Business.
